Job Description
Summary:

The CNC Swiss/CNC Lathe Set-Up Technician performs set ups and manufactures parts per customer specifications utilizing CNC Single Spindle Swiss Screw Machines and/or CNC Lathes, troubleshoots machining processes, and assists in CNC machine process and programming practices.  Serves as a department liaison to
the other functional areas within the company.


Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities that may be necessary from time to time.
  • Comply with all safety regulations.
  • Comply with all Quality System requirements.
  • Perform data entry tasks.
  • Use a variety of measuring devices to inspect parts and verify conformance of work to specifications.
  • Set up and/or operate any part, using any CNC Single Spindle Swiss Screw Machine.
  • Adjust machine tools to maintain quality specifications.
  • Sharpen and replace cutting tools as needed.
  • Adjust or replace collets and bushings as needed.
  • Replace raw material when needed to continue the manufacturing process.
  • Separate chips from parts, wash parts, and count parts.
  • Perform general preventive maintenance tasks on equipment.
  • Train other machinists to maintain or improve job skills.
  • Assist with CNC programming and machining process tasks.
  • Serve as a department liaison to other functional areas of the company for the purpose of quoting, process improvement, troubleshooting, training, scheduling, and corrective/preventative action activities.
  • Keep up-to-date with technology changes in the industry as it relates to Swiss-Tech.
  • Contribute to continual improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

  • Ability to set-up and operate all CNC Single Spindle Swiss Screw Machines and/or CNC Lathes for any part.
  • Ability to address duties and responsibilities using a systematic progression of thought to deliver value added results.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent.
