Overview

Expected pay for this position is $32.87 - $38.66/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Compliance Auditor responds to suspected, reported or confirmed instances of non-compliance through audits and other activities to effectively meet the goals of the OSF compliance program. Works collaboratively to perform compliance risk assessments, conduct compliance audits, respond to deficiencies, implement needed controls and coordinates ongoing compliance monitoring. Area of focus may include hospital, provider practice or home care (hospice, home health, home medical equipment and home infusion pharmacy).


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Other Licenses/Certifications: Certification in professional medical coding (such as CPC, CCA, CCS-P or CPMA) or medical records (such as RHIT or RHIA); or must obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 1 year experience in coding, billing, or audit in a healthcare setting OR High School diploma with 5 years' experience in coding, billing, or audit in a healthcare setting

Other skills/knowledge:

  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in health care administration or business administration
  • Experience with statistical analysis, sampling techniques and reporting methods preferred.

Other Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the elements of an effective compliance program
  • Knowledge of essential OIG, DOJ and OCR materials
  • Knowledge of FCA, the Stark Law, the AKS, the CMP Law and the HIPAA Privacy Rule

Other requirements/information:

  • Proficient in applying statutory, regulatory and policy provisions to everyday clinical and business activities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to explain often complicated requirements in a clear and concise way
