Covia, located in Oregon, IL, has an immediate opening for a Blending and Loadout Technician.

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure Safety is the top priority. All activities are to be completed following the best safety practices as defined by Corporate Safety and Health procedures and MSHA regulations. Enforce known safety regulations with over the road truck drivers.
  • Load trucks and railcars in an expedient manner so that there is minimum waiting time for all truck and rail shipments. Complete the required paperwork so that it is neat, clear and accurate.
  • Test the appropriate blend for each product and provide a COA as required.
  • Provide directions to the carloading activities to fulfill the daily and weekly shipping schedule.
  • Manage the product bin levels and control the levels between the various product bins, so that screen production is maximized.
  • Calibrate scales and participate in quality audits as required.
  • Complete customer Sample Requests.
  • Work overtime as needed to fill-in for vacation and sickness vacancies
  • Actively participate in Plants Quality Improvement Program & Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in shipping or other industrial setting
  • Experience with quality control a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and computer programs
