As a Buyer/Planner II, you will be using your skills and expertise to purchase materials, supplies, and services on the most favorable terms for the organization. Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to qualifying our suppliers, monitoring and ensuring our supplier quality and delivery, evaluating bids, negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services, tracking purchases, and maintaining a current database of our supplier information.
Additionally, you'll work on complex procurements of significant dollar value, as well as manage multiple service type contracts. This role will also be assigned projects as a material planner. As a material planner your duties will include, but not limited to assess material and component demand for projects, submit purchase requisitions for open demand, production orders, and work with the production schedulers to ensure material is in-house in time for builds.
Must-haves:
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically three (3) or more years of relevant experience; higher education may substitute for relevant experience
*Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
*Purchasing experience
Preferred:
* Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance
* Basic accounting skills
* Procurement planning and logistics experience
