Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Schedule is 10:00 – 18:30 with alternating weekends. Weekend hours: 07:00 – 15:30

Major Responsibilities:

  • Screens potential new volunteers and participates in interviewing process.
  • Provides site-specific orientation and transitions new volunteers on their first day of assignment.
  • Provides orientation and continuing training programs and serves as a resource to volunteers.
  • Plans and implements annual recognition program for volunteers.
  • Maintains department tracking (scheduling and placement) of volunteers and volunteer documentation.
  • Markets availability of volunteer services to other departments with the facility as directed.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Business or related field.

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a volunteer setting that includes experiences in recruiting, screening, interviewing and scheduling of volunteers.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with volunteers from diverse socioeconomic and demographic backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of volunteerism, volunteer organizational structure and the role of volunteers in a not-for-profit healthcare organization.
  • Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Variable working hours may be required (specific to the hiring site.)
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Exposed to normal office environment.
